Introduction to Esoteric Meditation
Wed., June 11th, 7:00-9:00pm. Cost: $25.00 / 30.00 at door
The emphasis of this talk will be on the nature and importance of esoteric meditation. Much of the presentation is on the spiritual benefits
of this ancient discipline, and how it accelerates one's spiritual development over time. In addition, the dangers related to meditation will be covered,
and the means to avoid them. The distinction between “meditation with seed” and “meditation without seed” are highlighted,
as well as the circumstances that favor one approach over the other. Also discussed will be information on the creative use of the “sacred word”,
as well as the use of meditation in the art of white magic. Time permitting, an introduction to a meditative technique will be offered and demonstrated.


The Spiritual Call

Modern day discipleship represents a force destined to bring spiritual light to humanity.
Around the world, spiritually minded people are rising to THE CALL to transform the human condition.
Such people are "change agents" in support of the evolution of Spirit. Yet, more than ever, various internal obstacles hinder them
from truly rising to their soul's calling. In this presentation we shall examine the nature of THE CALL as it manifests
within consciousness. In addition, various psychological hindrances will be examined, as well as techniques to overcome them.


Heavenly Marriage: The Union of Mind and Intuition
Fri., June 13th, 6:30pm-9:30pm. Cost: $30.00 / 35.00 at door
Held at the Unity Church, 601 Tompkins, Madison, WI.
The human mind is the true companion to spiritual intuition. When the mind is properly oriented,
the intuitions coming from the soul will be correctly interpreted. Yet, if the lower mind and emotions are overly involved,
the soul’s intuitions become distorted and misapplied. From the esoteric perspective, the higher mind is the
rightful interpreter of our intuitive impressions. The challenge is to orient the mind correctly so that it truly becomes the Revealer of the Real,
rather than the Slayer of the Real. In this workshop, the nature of the human mind and its sacred relationship to intuition will be closely examined.
The distinctions between the higher and lower mind will be highlighted, as well how thoughts emerge within the mind in response to the soul’s intuitional gaze.
In addition, techniques will be offered that facilitate this heavenly marriage.


Practical Mysticism - The Way of the Future
Saturday, June 14th, 9:30am-4:30pm. Cost: $70.00 / 75.00 at door
For centuries, mysticism has been a major force in our quest to experience God and the spiritual dimension of life.
Our yearning to find relationship with the Divine is ancient, and has been an instinctual impulse within us since the dawning hour of humankind.
Though mysticism has been the emphasis of the past, it is gradually evolving into a new and more enlightened approach to God and our understanding of spiritual living.
This new approach has been called Practical Mysticism.

In this workshop, the subject of Practical Mysticism will be presented and discussed. Listed below are a few (but not all) of the topics included in this seminar:

For over twenty years, William Meader (author of Shine Forth) has been a student and teacher of the Esoteric Philosophy.
Much of his work has been focused on the subjects of White Magic, Esoteric Astrology and the Science of the Seven Rays.
He is also an experienced teacher of various meditation practices. At present he is teaching in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Esotericism

The word esoteric simply means "that which is hidden." As such, the Esoteric Philosophy attempts to shed light on spiritual matters that are not obvious to a person's everyday thoughts and feelings. All spiritual activities that support introspection and philosophic inquiry are esoteric. Whether we consider the development of the abstract mind, a search for deeper love within oneself, or the practice of meditation and contemplation, each is designed to reveal a hidden dimension of one's spiritual nature and is therefore esoteric.



The Esoteric Philosophy

The Esoteric Philosophy emphasizes the idea that spiritual evolution is enhanced though a deep and profound study of the soul and its nature. This tradition is founded on the notion that human consciousness is essentially spiritual, and that one's true identity is the soul itself. Its objective is to give deeper understanding to the dynamics of the soul as it gradually seeks to influence and transform the human personality. This process is believed to occur over the course of many incarnations, and is the basis of human evolution. Topics such as meditation, the psychology of the soul and the magical nature of creative thought, are all deemed useful in this regard. Each provides insight into the nature of human consciousness, as well as the challenges one faces as the soul seeks to infuse itself into the personality. Though the origins of the Esoteric Philosophy are ancient, it has been relatively unknown to the inquiring minds of modern day humanity. However, during the last few decades there has been renewed interest in this deeply mystical/scientific approach to the human mind. Humanity's increasing fascination with spiritual matters does therefore suggest that interest in this approach to spiritual development will continue to rise. It should be noted that the Esoteric Tradition is not a religion. Rather, it is a collection of profound ideas that have application to every department of human existence. As such, it is a view of life that is inclusive of religion, but by no means limited to it. The metaphysical principles it emphasizes have equal application to education, politics, sciences and the arts - to name just a few of the many domains of human-expression.
