The Evolution of Thought

When we think of evolution, we tend to consider it in physical terms. According to science, natural selection and adaptation to the environment are the forces that move evolution forward. However, the Estoric Philosophy views this in a slightly different manner. Instead of seeing it as a physical event, it is understood as a dynamic process occuring within consciousness itself. It is consciousness that is evolving, and physical form will, over time, reflect these changes. Indeed, what science considers evolution, Esotericism sees as merely its effect. In this presentation, human consciousness and its evolution will be discussed. The dual nature of the mind (soul and personality) will also be considered, and how they must eventually be mereged as a prerequisite to enlightment.
The Angelic Kingdom

Hidden from human sight is found the Angelic Kingdom in nature. Sometimes called "deva", these agents of God bestow the intelligence and beauty found in all of creation. Using the language of symbols, color and sound, they facilitate human evolution, as well as the upliftment of all life on Earth. In this workshop, we will examine the nature of the Angelic Kingdom and its influence in our lives. We will also consider the role devas play in assisting the Masters in their work of human redemption. Spirituality and Sex
Fri., June 8th, 7:00-9:00pm. Cost: $25. The spiritual meaning and role of sexuality has been a mystery for countless centuries. To truly understand its significance in our personal lives, it must be examined from both a cosmic and human perspective. The dynamics of sexuality are fundamental to all states of consciouness within creation. It is the outward symbol of the soul as it seeks intercourse with the human personality. Sex is therefore a sacred principle inherent within the Universe itself. It is the means by which humanity attempts to symbolize the interplay between spirit and matter, life and form. When sex is impulsed from the desires of the personality, we are unable to realize its spiritual meaning. Yet, when one is able to develop and hold a heightened state of consciousness, its deeper sacredness is then revealed. In this presentation we will examine the spiritual meaning behind human sexuality. We will consider the sexual urge as it comes forth in response to our animal desires, versus its expression as a function of the soul's evolutionary development. From this understanding the higher meaning and purpose of sexuality becomes evident within one's personal life.
The Seven Ray Workshop

According to the Esoteric Philosophy, all of creation comes into being via the interaction of seven great streams of energy (Rays).
These Rays condition all life upon our planet and every human being is subject to their influence. From a spiritual perspective, an understanding of the Seven Rays is crucial, for it is said that every Soul is found upon one of these divine Rays.
To understand one's Soul Ray is to discover one's essential nature and spiritual purpose in life.
In short, there are seven types of Souls, each having a particular quality seeking to be expressed in the outer world.

Death - The Great Adventure

Death is an unavoidable aspect of life, though mystery and fear often surround it. To those dedicated to living a spiritual life, death is understood as a beginning, not an end. At the time of death, the soul begins its libration from its encasement in form. Death therefore frees the soul from the limitations of incarnated existence. Yet there are few who know death as a great adventure, and who truly understand the transformational processes that occur at the time of death. Here are a few of the specific themes:
* The nature of death, as understood in the ancient Esoteric Tradition * How physical death is always followed by a "second death" * The experience of Devachan after the death process is complete * How the soul evolves as a result of the death experience * The role of the "permanent atoms" in the reincarnation process * Methods of living as a preparetion for death
For over twenty years, William Meader (author of Shine Forth) has been a student and teacher of the Esoteric Philosophy. Much of his work has been focused on the subjects of White Magic, Esoteric Astrology and the Science of the Seven Rays. He is also an experienced teacher of various meditation practices. At present he is teaching in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He resides in Beaverton, Oregon. Esotericism
The word esoteric simply means "that which is hidden." As such, the Esoteric Philosophy attempts to shed light on spiritual matters that are not obvious to a person's everyday thoughts and feelings. All spiritual activities that support introspection and philosophic inquiry are esoteric. Whether we consider the development of the abstract mind, a search for deeper love within oneself, or the practice of meditation and contemplation, each is designed to reveal a hidden dimension of one's spiritual nature and is therefore esoteric.
The Esoteric Philosophy
The Esoteric Philosophy emphasizes the idea that spiritual evolution is enhanced though a deep and profound study of the soul and its nature. This tradition is founded on the notion that human consciousness is essentially spiritual, and that one's true identity is the soul itself. Its objective is to give deeper understanding to the dynamics of the soul as it gradually seeks to influence and transform the human personality. This process is believed to occur over the course of many incarnations, and is the basis of human evolution. Topics such as meditation, the psychology of the soul and the magical nature of creative thought, are all deemed useful in this regard. Each provides insight into the nature of human consciousness,
as well as the challenges one faces as the soul seeks to infuse itself into the personality.
Though the origins of the Esoteric Philosophy are ancient, it has been relatively unknown to the inquiring minds of modern day humanity. However, during the last few decades there has been renewed interest in this deeply mystical/scientific approach to the human mind. Humanity's increasing fascination with spiritual matters does therefore suggest that
interest in this approach to spiritual development will continue to rise.
It should be noted that the Esoteric Tradition is not a religion. Rather, it is a collection of profound ideas that have application to every department of human existence. As such, it is a view of life that is inclusive of religion, but by no means limited to it. The metaphysical principles it emphasizes have equal application to education, politics, sciences and the arts -
